established in 1884

Tucked away on Rockfield Road on Oban Hill, halfway between the lovely town centre and the famous McCaig’s Tower, you’ll find Fàilte Bed and Breakfast — a beautifully restored Victorian villa built in 1884.

Our home has plenty of character, with a Family Suite and two Double Rooms. Each room has high ceilings, white walls, and wooden floors, creating a bright and peaceful space to unwind. You’ll find comfy chairs, king-size beds, and all the little touches to help you feel right at home.

Just a short ten-minute walk from the town centre, Fàilte is perfectly placed for exploring. Whether you’re arriving by train, bus, ferry, or planning to cycle through the Highlands and Islands, everything is within easy reach.

Come and enjoy a stay at Fàilte Bed and Breakfast — where the charm of the past meets the comfort of today, and every guest is welcomed.

acquired in December 2015

Back in 2015, when our youngest headed off to start their own adventure, we decided it was time for a new one of our own. That journey brought us to Oban, where we took over Fàilte and turned it into a place we’re truly proud to call home. Our hope is simple — that your stay with us leaves you with fond memories and a reason to return.

Thomas, born in Namibia with german heritage, studied Hotel Management in South Africa and built up years of experience in Namibia, South Africa, and Germany before making the move to Scotland in 2008.

Isabel, of Portuguese descent, grew up in sunny South Africa. Her background is in Education, and after moving to Scotland, she spent some time working in Child Care before joining Thomas in this new chapter.

Together, we took a leap into hospitality with Fàilte B&B — and it’s been a wonderful adventure ever since. We love meeting people from all over the world and sharing a little bit of what makes Oban so special. We look forward to welcoming you into our home — where comfort, warmth, and a friendly smile are always waiting.
